The Bluffs of Wilson Creek is located near historic Wilson Creek Gorge, a federally designated "Wild and Scenic River" wilderness area recognized as one of North Carolina’s greatest natural treasures. The area is renowned for its rich diversity of outdoor activities and natural attractions, including waterfalls, hiking, camping, mountain biking, motorcycle riding swimming, horseback riding, fly fishing and picnicking. Historic Wilson Creek is also a popular destination for boating, canoeing, kayaking and tubing. The area features one of the nation’s most challenging whitewater runs with rapids ranging from Class III to Class V.

Located at the foot of the scenic Blue Ridge Mountains, 30 minutes from Blowing Rock, Caldwell County is one of four counties that form the fourth largest metropolitan statistical area in North Carolina. The county ranges from 900 to 5,964 feet at Grandfather Mountain, its lush, rolling countryside nurtured by the Catawba River and encircled by the famed Blue Ridge Parkway with its magnificent mountain views. Here you’ll enjoy a multitude of outdoor recreational opportunities, with four distinct seasons, an average temperature of 60 degrees and an average of 49 inches of rain annually.

The area’s rich history dates back to just before the Revolutionary War, with many historical sites that have been preserved to this day. Today, Caldwell County is home to 78,000 people, most of who reside in the county seat of Lenoir. Once renowned for being one the furniture manufacturing capitals of the South, Caldwell County’s economy has become more diversified, moving toward high-tech industry. Google is building a massive data center in Lenoir, with companies as diverse as VX Aerospace and Advanced Micro Power Research Technology Incubator (RTI) opening manufacturing facilities or relocating to the area. Downtown Lenoir is also in the midst of a sweeping revitalization that is breathing new life into the business and cultural life of the county.

And the entire area is well-connected to anywhere in the region and beyond by the Blue Ridge Parkway, Interstate 40, US Highways 64 and 321 and several regional airports.
