The Bluffs of Wilson Creek Brings Mountain
Living Closer To Nature.
Collettsville, N.C. - In an era
dominated by growing concerns about mankind’s
impact on the environment, more people than ever
before are seeking out opportunities to live in
greater harmony with the natural world. Such concerns
inspired a small group of friends and family to
develop 600 acres in the Blue Ridge Mountains of
North Carolina near the popular tourist town
of Blowing Rock into a one-of-kind community made
for others who share their love of the land. A
community called The Bluffs of Wilson Creek.
Located in Collettsville, NC, The Bluffs of Wilson Creek is
part of Wilson Creek Gorge, a federally designated "Wild
and Scenic River" wilderness area recognized as one of North
Carolina’s greatest natural treasures. It is an area that
has truly been blessed with natural advantages. Each lot in the
600-acre community borders or offers deeded access to the Pisgah
National Forest. Sweeping vistas of the surrounding countryside
include views of Grandfather Mountain, one the North Carolina’s
most scenic attractions. The Bluffs’ developers also went
to great lengths to preserve the land’s natural character
by installing underground utilities that protect the integrity
of the area’s scenic mountain views.
While other mountain retreats are often nothing more than a
group of adjoining home sites, The Bluffs actually deserves to
be called a community. Each generously sized lot is interconnected
through a series of trails specially constructed to make it easy
for pedestrians, bicycles and golf carts to travel in and around
the community. The Bluffs also has its own community park, complete
with hiking trails, picnic shelters, tennis and basketball courts,
and professionally designed baseball fields with lights for night
play.
However, living closer to nature at The Bluffs doesn’t
require sacrificing modern amenities. Streets are paved throughout
the community and every convenience is available to residents,
including cable television and high-speed internet access. The
Bluffs also offers residents easy access to an abundance of outdoors
activities, local attractions and shopping opportunities throughout
the region, located just 1.5 hours from Charlotte and 20 minutes
from Lenoir, N.C.
The Bluffs of Wilson Creek is the realization of a dream for
four groups of friends and family who acquired 600 acres of Caldwell
County countryside bordering a family homestead in 2003. Each
partner devoted his or her own unique expertise to the development
of The Bluffs, including engineering, horticulture, land development,
plant nursery and landscape architecture. Together, they are
united by a personal commitment to preparing the community as
a gift to others who share their love of the land.
“We believe The Bluffs is part of a prosperous future
for those who have either grown up and raised families here,
as well as those drawn here by the area’s idyllic lifestyle
and emerging business community,” explained Eric L. Jenkins,
a representative for The Bluffs of Wilson Creek. “But
The Bluffs isn’t just a business to us; it is also our
home. Each of us either has or is in the process of building
a home here. We hope others will take the time to investigate
the lifestyle that can only be enjoyed in these mountains, in
this community, in the company of good neighbors.”
